1. Teks Report (Laporan Informasi)

Apa itu Teks Report? (Fungsi Sosial) 

Teks Report adalah teks yang memberikan informasi faktual dan umum tentang suatu hal, seperti hewan, benda, atau fenomena alam. Tujuannya adalah untuk mendeskripsikan sesuatu secara umum berdasarkan hasil observasi atau penelitian. Pikirkan teks ini seperti entri dalam sebuah ensiklopedia.

Bagaimana Strukturnya? (Struktur Teks)

• General Classification (Klasifikasi Umum): Biasanya di paragraf pertama. Bagian ini memperkenalkan subjek dan mengklasifikasikannya. Contoh: "Orangutans are one of the great apes."
• Description (Deskripsi): Paragraf-paragraf berikutnya. Bagian ini mendeskripsikan ciri-ciri, bagian-bagian, kebiasaan, atau kualitas dari subjek secara lebih rinci. Contoh: "They have long arms and reddish-brown hair."

Apa Ciri Bahasanya? (Unsur Kebahasaan)

• Menggunakan Simple Present Tense karena membahas fakta umum (contoh: is, are, live, eat, have).
• Menggunakan istilah teknis atau ilmiah (contoh: mammals, habitat, species).

Contoh Teks Report dengan Anotasi

Orangutans

(General Classification) → Orangutans are one of the three species of great apes native to Asia. They are found only in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. The name "orangutan" means "person of the forest" in Malay.

(Description) → Orangutans have long, powerful arms and reddish-brown hair. They spend most of their lives in trees. Their diet mainly consists of fruit, but they also eat leaves and insects. An adult male orangutan is much larger than a female.

2. Teks Procedure (Prosedur)

Teks Procedure adalah teks yang menjelaskan cara melakukan atau membuat sesuatu melalui serangkaian langkah yang berurutan. Tujuannya adalah untuk memberikan instruksi yang jelas kepada pembaca. Pikirkan teks ini seperti resep masakan atau buku panduan.

Bagaimana Strukturnya? (Struktur Teks)

1. Goal (Tujuan): Judul teks yang menyatakan apa yang akan dibuat atau dilakukan. Contoh: "How to Make an Omelette.
2. Materials / Tools (Bahan / Alat): Daftar bahan atau alat yang dibutuhkan.
3. Steps (Langkah-langkah): Serangkaian instruksi yang harus diikuti secara berurutan.

Apa Ciri Bahasanya? (Unsur Kebahasaan)

• Menggunakan Kalimat Perintah (Imperative Verbs) di awal setiap langkah (contoh: Crack the eggs..., Heat the pan...).
• Menggunakan Penanda Urutan (Sequence Markers) (contoh: First, Then, Next, Finally).

Contoh Teks Procedure dengan Anotasi

How to Make an Omelette

(Goal)

Materials:

• Two eggs
• A pinch of salt
• A little butter

Steps:

1. First, crack the eggs into a small bowl.

2. Add a pinch of salt and whisk them with a fork.

3. Then, heat the butter in a frying pan.

4. Pour the egg mixture into the hot pan.

5. Cook for two minutes, then fold the omelette in half.

6. Finally, serve it on a plate.

Most bicycles have a metal frame, two wheels with rubber tires, a seat, and handlebars for steering. The rider sits on the seat and uses the handlebars to control the direction. A bicycle is an environmentally friendly vehicle because it produces no pollution.

How to Ride a Bicycle

You will need:

• A bicycle that fits your size
• A helmet 

Steps:

1. First, wear your helmet for safety.
2. Then, get on the bicycle and sit on the seat.
3. Put both of your hands on the handlebars.
4. Push one pedal down with your foot to start moving.
5. Finally, look forward and keep your balance.
